Carole S. Callaghan graduated with honors from the University of Houston Law Center, where she was a member of the Board of Advocates, the Order of the Barons, and the Order of the Barristers, and was an active volunteer with the People’s Law School. Ms. Callaghan won numerous mock trial and moot court competitions, and received awards for best brief and best speaker at the 2005 Blakely Butler Moot Court Competition.
Following law school, Ms. Callaghan had the honor of serving as Judge Cathy Cochran's Briefing Attorney for the 2005-06 term of the Texas Court of Criminal Appeals. She then continued her state service as an Assistant Attorney General, representing the State of Texas and the Texas Department of Criminal Justice in state and federal court. In her four years as an Assistant Attorney General, Ms. Callaghan argued four cases in front of the Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals. She is admitted to practice in all Texas state and federal courts, the Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals, and the Supreme Court of the United States.
Prior to law school, Ms. Callaghan earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Physics from Louisiana State University. After completing her undergraduate degree, she worked at Advanced Micro Devices as an engineering manager, where she volunteered for programs such as GirlStart and the Special Olympics. During her seven years at AMD, Ms. Callaghan earned her Masters of Business Administration from St. Edwards University.
