Elena Martinez Gallegos, a longtime shareholder in the firm, has practiced law with the firm since graduating from the University of Texas School of Law in 1988.  Ms. Gallegos heads the New Mexico office of Walsh Anderson.  A former special education teacher, her practice emphasizes special education litigation.  From 2000-2005, in addition to practicing law, Ms. Gallegos served as a Program Specialist with the Mountain Plains Regional Resource Center (MPRRC), which is funded by the United States Department of Education, Office of Special Education Programs (OSEP) to provide technical assistance to state departments of education in ten states including New Mexico and the Bureau of Indian Affairs.  Ms. Gallegos has served on the Board of Directors of the Education Law Association (formerly the National Organization on Legal Problems of Education).  She is a well-known speaker throughout the country on issues of school law.  Ms. Gallegos is licensed to practice law in both New Mexico and Texas.
