Maxine Longoria-Nash is a graduate of Texas Southern University–Thurgood Marshall School of Law and has been a licensed attorney since 1993. She received her Bachelor of Arts degree from The University of Texas Pan American in Edinburg, Texas with a major in English and a minor in Psychology. Maxine worked with the Hidalgo County District Attorney’s Office for approximately five years with successful prosecutions in a number of sexual assault and murder trials. In September of 1999 she was appointed by the Hidalgo County Board of Judges to sit as the Judge of the Hidalgo County Juvenile Justice Court and served in that capacity for over eight years. In 2003 Maxine became board certified in Juvenile Law and is one of sixty-nine attorneys in the State of Texas, and the only attorney south of San Antonio to have earned a Board Certification in this area of law. Maxine is licensed to practice in the state district and county courts of Texas, and is admitted to practice in the United States District Court for the Southern District of Texas. Ms. Longoria-Nash has been involved with a number of organizations including the Texas Trial Lawyers Association, Texas District & County Attorneys Association, Texas Center for the Judiciary, Inc., National Council of Juvenile and Family Court Judges, Texas Juvenile Probation Commission Advisory Council, Texas State Bar Juvenile Law Section Council Member, Texas Scholars, as well as a number of other organizations. She also served on the Board of Directors of the Hidalgo County Bar Association and Bar Foundation for a number of years, and as the President of both organizations in 2005 – 2006. Maxine serves on the Board of Directors of the Texas Board of Legal Specialization. Ms. Longoria-Nash works in the McAllen office, where her practice focuses on the representation of school districts in the areas of employment law, student issues, governance and litigation.
