Eric G. Rodriguez is a Rio Grande Valley native who grew up in deep South Texas. He traces his early educational development to elementary school in the La Villa Independent School District, and is also a product of the Edcouch-Elsa Independent School District, where he graduated from high school. In 2004, Mr. Rodriguez earned his law degree from the University of Texas School of Law in Austin, Texas. While in law school, Mr. Rodriguez was an active member of the Chicano/Hispanic Law Student Association, the Teaching Quizmaster program, and the Student Recruitment and Orientation committee. He also represented abused and neglected children as a student attorney in the Children's Rights Clinic at the law school. He is licensed to practice in the state district and county courts of Texas, and is admitted to practice in the United States District Court for the Southern District of Texas. He is a member of the State Bar of Texas, the Hidalgo County Bar Association, the Texas Young Lawyers Association and the Hidalgo County Young Lawyers Association.
