Nasha Y. Torrez is a native Northern New Mexican who received her bachelors degree in business in 2000 from the University of New Mexico. She then worked as a special education advocate for children with disabilities in California at a non-profit law firm. Nasha graduated from the UNM School of Law in 2006, where she received the Deans Award for outstanding contributions to the law school community for her leadership work in establishing a minority mentorship program. Nasha then practiced in civil litigation, focusing on labor and employment law before going to work as the Associate General Counsel for New Mexico State Governor Bill Richardson, and General Counsel to the New Mexico State Fair. She is licensed to practice in the United States District Court New Mexico, and the state courts of New Mexico.
