Our San Antonio office has moved!  Note that our mailing address, phone number and fax number in San Antonio have stayed the same.  We even stayed in the same building!  We just changed floors.  The new address is 100 N. E. Loop 410, Suite 900, San Antonio, Texas 78216.  We would love to show off our new space so be sure and stop by if you are in the area!

Reception during the Mid-Winter Conference!  We hope to see everyone at our annual reception during the Mid-Winter Conference.  In celebration of our 25th Anniversary year, we have decided to bring the reception back to our Austin offices.  We are looking forward to showing off our new space!  The reception will be on Tuesday, January 27, 2009 from 5 – 7:00 p.m.  Bring your convention badge to speed up your entry at the door! 

New Year – New Audio/Video Conferences in store!  We will have our first audio conference of the new year on Thursday, January 15 from 9:30 to 11:00 a.m. (CST). Jim Walsh and Elena Gallegos will present “Congress Amends Section 504:  What Will it Mean for Student Services in Texas Schools?”  Later the same day at 10:30 AM (MST), they will present “Congress Amends Section 504:  What Will it Mean for Student Services in New Mexico Schools?”  Click here to register for one of these audio conferences.

January 28, 2009 – George Grimes will conduct an audio/webinar session from 12:00 – 1:00 on “Construction Contracting for Texas Public Schools.” 

February 3, 2009 – John Aldridge and Shellie Hoffman Crow will present “The End of the Line – Supporting Decisions to Nonrenew and Reassign Contract Employees” from 10 a.m. – Noon.

February 18, 2009 – Nona Matthews and Gigi Norman will present “Legal Issues in Serving Students with Autism” from 10 a.m. – Noon.

Laura L. Holt joins our San Antonio office!  We are pleased to announce that Laura Holt has joined the firm as an attorney in our San Antonio office.  Laura graduated from SMU Dedman School of Law.  She holds a Bachelor of Education degree in Social Science from Hardin-Simmons University, a Master’s degree in Educational Leadership from Texas Woman’s University, Teacher Certification, and Mid-Management Certification. Prior to entering the practice of law, Laura was a teacher, coach, assistant principal, and curriculum supervisor accumulating twenty years of experience in Texas public schools. She is working in the special education section of the San Antonio office. 


Holiday Cards!  Congratulations to Jami Brown, an 11th Grade Student at West Hardin High School in West Hardin County CISD for winning our annual holiday card contest.  Jami's drawing was used on the holiday cards we sent out to our clients this year.  The other finalists were from Donna ISD, SELCO SSA, and West Hardin County CISD.  Thanks to all the participants.  All of the artwork was wonderful!
